Light Adjustable Lens™
Light Adjustable Lens™
Optimize your vision after cataract surgery the Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL) from RxSight®. Before LAL, the fixed lens options would lock you into a predetermined focal length. What makes LAL special is it is the only intraocular lens (IOL) made of a special photosensitive material that can be adjusted in response to ultraviolet (UV) light.
How Does the Light Adjustable Lens Work?
In cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is removed from the eye and replaced with a permanent intraocular lens (IOL) implant, and the surgery is done one eye at a time.
After your eye has healed, your doctor will optimize your vision results using a series of 2-4 non-invasive light treatments over the course of 1-2 weeks. When you have reached your vision goals, a final light treatment is used to lock in the results.
Your Vision After the Light Adjustable Lens
With the Light Adjustable Lens, you are 2x as likely to achieve 20/20 vison without glasses versus the standard (fixed monofocal IOL.
